Announcing our First Annual Contest Issue!
Beginning with our spring 2013 issue, The Examined Life Journal will kick off our yearly writing contests. Each year we will award prizes in fiction, poetry and nonfiction.
In addition to entry in the contest, each paid submission will be considered for inclusion in the spring issue. In addition to entry into the contest, each entry fee entitles the entrant to a one year subscription to the journal. If you are a current subscriber, your entry will be good for one additional year added to your current subscription. If you do not wish to enter the contest, we’ll still consider your work for the spring issue via our genre categories.
Please be sure to open the confirmation email you receive after you enter the contest and follow the directions therein to redeem your one year subscription.
The details are as follows:
Entry fee: $25 (includes one year subscription to the journal. Each entry will also be considered for inclusion in the spring 2013 issue)
One entry per person, per genre (one piece of prose or up to 3 poems)
1st Prize for each genre: $300 and an invitation to read your work at the Spring 2013 Examined Life Conference, registration fee included. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide travel funds.
2nd Prize for each genre: $150 and an invitation to read your work at the Spring 2013 Examined Life Conference, registration fee included. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide travel funds.
